The Village Hall

Eccleston Village Hall is situated East of the centre of the village and overlooks the water meadows and River Dee. It was built by the Grosvenor Estate in 1927 for use by the community as a village hall and has been used as such ever since. Leaps and Bounds Pre-school Playgroup use the hall four mornings a week. It is also used for theatrical productions by Belgrave Arts Association, church meetings and bazaars, quiz nights and other village social events. It is regularly used for children’s parties and family celebrations such as wedding receptions. Visiting Brownie groups have used it as a base for holidays to walk along the river and for trips into Chester. Charitable organisations use it for lunches and other fund raising events.

The hall is run by a voluntary management committee and is available for hire by members of the community and beyond.

The Recent Refurbishment

The refurbishment project is at long last complete and the hall once again ready for use.

The facilities include a new kitchen extension with a large cooker and large areas of working space. A microwave oven and dish washer are also available.

The toilet area has been completely refurbished and a toilet for the disabled installed, including baby changing facilities. The landscaped area to the rear of the hall is available for use in suitable weather conditions and there are plenty of car

parking spaces.
